We Shine

Our College and our students are connected to local industry, are connected to our community and are connected to each other. These connections are strengthened through work
experience programs, school camps, community service programs and involvement within the wider Whitsunday region.St Catherine’s Catholic College provides beautiful, modern, and  innovative learning spaces from Kindergarten to Year 12 which fosters collaborative and independent learning for all our students in their education journey. Our students are the heart of our school, and we are committed to providing them with exceptional teachers, resources, and authentic learning experiences that connect with our local Whitsunday community.

St Catherine’s Catholic College’s Arts Department actively promotes, inspires and facilitates our students’ experience of the Arts, to develop their aesthetic sensibilities. We believe that creative problem solving and self-expression are vital components in developing the ‘whole’ student, and that fostering appreciation for and experience in creative processes directly influences levels of success across the curriculum and in later life. Artistic development of students is achieved by offering a dynamic learning environment that facilitates many extra-curricular Arts opportunities. Access to experiences such as our College musical, art gallery trips, artist incursions and our College music program influence students’ lives in profound ways: in their understanding of themselves, their connection to local and world communities and cultures, and in exploring their own creativity. We are passionate about collaborating with regional, national, and international artists, organisations and local community partners in pursuit of mutual artistic goals and richer cultural experiences for our students.
